I am very defensive about owning my X5. It's a great performing car, and I don't feel it is fair to give up performance for very little environmental impact (the existing "green" SUV's hardly improve anything). I am very interested to find out how the Cayenne performs as a hybrid. The Cayenne Hybrid features a full-hybrid design where the hybrid module (clutch and electric motor) is positioned between the combustion engine and the transmission. It'll get about 24 miles to the gallon, but hopes to improve it to 26. They are introducing it around 2009.
