Once again I join the ranks of fans of an already popular product instead of recommending it first. But I have no shame :) ! Verizon has been upping their phone selection recently, and their latest entry is the Blackberry Pearl 8130. This is the real Pearl - instant email to and from your phone, 3rd-party applications can be installed, and it comes with a calender, web browser, etc. It also has Bluetooth, but only for certain things: You can use a headset, send a picture or output the audio, but that's about it. There is a cool built in GPS, BUT Verizon (gotta love them) disabled it - it only works if you pay them $9.99 a month. This is my first blackberry and I am very happy with it. Be warned though - it does take a few days to get used to the menus and all. Overall, slim, cool and super functional - what more could you want in a phone? Currently $199 with a new 2 year contract.

Great phone. Only grief is my provider, Bell Canada, only has two colour options: Candy red or a deep purple. My only choice was the slightly more masculine deep purple (almost a deep blue) although I would have much preferred a black. It seems to me like Bell is really trying to market the 8130 to females and the more expensive 8830 to men.

Great phone. The predictive text is the best I've ever used. The trick is to not look at the keyboard when you type. I originally viewed the lack of WiFi as a big negative, but so far I don't miss it. The phone just works great. If it turns out to be a durable, tough phone, then this could be my phone for the next year or two.

I love the small size of the blackberry! I also love the ability to buy a memory card to store music. The software is great when connecting to a PC.

Great phone. No, it's not the iPod, but it's a great phone for checking email, surfing the web, chatting, texting whatever. It's not that big, it's not a flip phone and have not had any problems yet. Great phone all around.

I was kinda anti-blackberry.. Well I didn't want one until I felt I was important enough to have one. Now with the success of the site, its essential and one of my most coveted gifts from my boyfriend. Its a computer so it has its imperfections, but a Blackberry is a must for anyone on the go. I love the pearl because it fits into my petite hands perfectly.

I've had it for a couple of months and no problems. With a 4g micro SD card, makes for a great music player.

This Pearl is a great phone, I wish Verizon would upgrade it a little faster, but as a phone and data device it;s great.
