I absolutely love this movie. Yes, it is a chick flick, but some men might find it entertaining. I wish it would be shown on TV more often. I haven't seen it for a few years now. Maybe someone will get the movie for me on DVD. Hint! ;-)

The scenery is amazing in this film --many scenes with flowers growing in fields. The story is enchanting and if you need a good movie to cheer you up -- this would be it. Many good stars in this movie too.

Splendidly adapted from the novel by E.M. Forster, it's a comedy of the heart, a passionate romance and a study of repression within the British class system of manners and mores.

Lucy Honeychurch, a young Englishwoman, makes her first visit to Florence, Italy in the early 1900's. There, she meets a quiet yet eccentric young man named George Emerson. Upon her return to England, Lucy must decide whether to follow through with her marriage to her stotic fiance, Cecil, or follow her heart and her growing attraction to George.

The film stars Maggie Smith as Charlotte Bartlett, a chaperon, Helena Bonham Carter as Lucy Honeychurch and Denholm Elliott as Mr. Emerson.

Absolutely gorgeous movie not to be missed!

My one and only trip to Italy has been through the eyes of this movie . . . and I fall in love with the country and the movie all over again each time I watch. Helena Bonham Carter truly blooms as the love-addled protaganist.
