American Doll Posse: Tori Amos
This is THE album that rekindled my love for this woman and the appreciation of her work. Being one of those diehard fans (an EWF or Toriphile) I was deeply saddened over the years being greatly disappointed by her more recent albums. I was giving up hope of ever regaining that feeling until the release of this. American Doll Posse is charged with emotion, striking sounds, and lyrics that are still personal and deep without all that usual Tori-nonsense any fan knows all too well. While this is still considered a concept album (5 characters relating and singing several songs each) it's still wild, raw, and politically and sexually charged - something one can always expect from Tori Amos.
I like Tori Amos a lot as a singer - her voice is terrific. This album had an incredibly interesting concept behind it all - Tori Amos as 5 'dolls' singing their songs. She developed personalities, bios, and everything. Song I'm into right now: Programmable Soda
