Confession: I love all John Cusack movies--Sure Thing, Say Anything, Stand By Me, Sixteen Candles, Pushing Tin, Con Air (ok, maybe not this one), Gross Point Blank, and High Fidelity. Cusack's characters all have a similar vibe and his acting skills seem to be relatively thin. However, he's just a likable guy who you want to pull for in the end. Plus, his movies all had great sound tracks which remind me of my youth. Who doesn't recall Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes and Cusack's famous stance with the boom box over head?!

John Cusack at his dry, self-effacing best, as a hopeless bachelor with a yen for vinyl - records, that is. Carried many a high school nerd through the difficult years. Palatable production values, attractive players, and a not-yet-patently-offensive Jack Black make this an easily digested watchover.

This is the first film that I ever noticed Jack Black and fell in love with the guy. Of course you have Cusack who is a one of those guys you just can't help but adore. The film is about love and music, two things that breath life into everything. Taken from the book by Nick Hornby and directed by Stephen Frears so really with all these brilliant minds on one project, how can you go wrong?

If every memory you have reminds you of a song you loved (or loathed), then "High Fidelity" will resonate deeply with you. John Cusack's lovelorn character is off-set brilliantly by Jack Black's incessant dance gyrations, firm grip on reality and wickedly insightful humor. A romantic comedy that even a guy could love. Oh, and if you are nostalgic for nylon, this movie will give you a shoulder to cry on.

Darkly funny, this John Cusack film is an adaptation of an excellent British novel of the same name.

If you like music and movies about music, you'll like this. If you like John Cusack in a perfect role of depression and normalcy, you'll like this film. If you like good movies, you'll like this one.
