Ray Bennett, MD, author of The Underachiever's Manifesto, reminds us that our "successes and failures really don't matter to nearly everybody alive." And the sooner we realize that, the sooner we can take comfort in it and get on with our underachievement with grace and dignity (or at least grace).

Mediocrity, not excellence, is the key to happiness, he says. Deal with it. If you're a star, everyone wants to shoot you down.

Let us all join hands and do less together. Then take a nap. ;)

(Kudos to the cover designer. It's the cleverest cover I've seen in a long time.)
