This isn't just a big hippie dome, they're beautiful, inexpensive and act as a great temporary artist's studio or summer cabin. They are a great vacation retreat. I stayed in a Yurt in Hawaii, on Maui, in Hana, for five of the best days of my life. The yurt is one of society's best creations. Perfectly comfy yet not crowded (even though in Hana the shower was outside--and I mean OUTSIDE IN THE TREES--which was wonderful.... when's the last time you took a shower under palm fronds and watched water droplets sparkle like prisms?) The very best way to live in nature. I am seriously considering downsizing my life in suburbia and living in a yurt. It is a near-perfect experience for minimalists, people who hate cleaning, people who love intimacy and romance and who like things a wee bit rustic.
