The Manhattan shop Distant Origin carries furniture manufactured on every continent and is the largest US importer of Fortuny lighting. The Soho store is known for its leather-covered case goods and embossed-leather upholstered pieces. "We started by importing furniture from Mexico 16 years ago," says co-owner Alex Hernandez. "And when we looked around the world and saw such beautiful products, we expanded our line."
