Hot Dots from Educational Insights are a great series of teaching aids that allow children to independently study and practice phonics, addition, subtraction and more. The pen shown here is sold separately and works with all the components. When the pen touches a "hot" dot (the right answer) the pen gives one of several affirmative phrases and glows brightly. Choose a "cold dot" and the pen gives a "boing," prompting kids to try again. Most kids really love using these!
