Emo sounds better on vinyl. And Conor Oberst is at his best with this album. Listen to it. You may end up a bit depressed but it will change you.

There's almost no doubt in my mind that all music sounds better on vinyl. Moreover, there are some albums that are just made to played with a needle. This is one of those. The evolution of emotions from the first track to the last is perfectly compiled. You start the album with a conversation, followed by some fairly happy tracks (even though Conor Oberst's vocals are almost impossible to interpret as anything but depressing) and it ends with the ironically titled track, "Road to Joy." This is the song that if you see them live, they'll attempt to destroy every instrument on stage.
