One of the funniest, well-written shows on TV (and I didn't have a TV for 7 years). Doctor show with acerbic wit.

I tend to think that I have a lot in common with House philosophically. On the other hand I tend to be much less abrasive, take my meds correctly and play well with others, but I'm not nearly as much fun to watch.

what more could you want in a doctor, not only is he sexy but he is an absolute genius Okay, so he's addicted to narcotics, but with his sarcastic sense of humor and wit and the ability to cure just about any illness I'd take him any day. A series definitely worth watching.

Perhaps my FAVORITE show of them all. And that not just because Hugh Laurie is quite yummy... He's also a brilliant actor!

This compelling medical mystery/drama/comedy starts off with a bang, throwing you into the bizarre world of Dr. Gregory House, an infectious disease specialist who only accepts the most bizarre cases he can find.
Hugh Laurie is brilliant as the curmudgeonly doctor, Gregory House, and his supporting cast is equally excellent. This is some of the best acting you'll ever see on television.

This is the best written, best acted and usually best directed show on U.S. network television. It's also an acquired taste that's not necessarily for everybody, especially those unused to or easily offended by anti-hero protagonists. Hugh Laurie plays a character, the brilliant diagnostician Dr. Gregory House, who I believe is unique in TV, in that he is endlessly fascinating, frustrating and fulminating, whether he's hurling invective at his associates (including racist, sexist, and ethnocentric jokes that manage to get past politically correct sensors solely due to Laurie's dead-pan and slyly self-aware delivery of them!); or he's trying to alienate his one true if admittedly over-matched friend, Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard, best known for his turn with Robin Williams in "Dead Poet's Society"); or he's dueling with his fetching boss, Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), with whom he is loathe to admit he may be equally matched; or he's avoiding as much real, human contact with his patients as he can and still manage to save their lives in typically TV hyper-dramatic, medical-cliffhanger fashion. Yet, damn it, we still like and admire him enough to fret about his debilitating leg injury and subsequent addiction to painkillers, his dysfunctional relationships with parents and ex (Sela Ward), and his complex and exceedingly lonely inner life. This is well on its way to being my favorite TV show of all time. House Rules! (no pun intended) (via eins)

Nasty genius of a doctor with a drug habit, limps, likes to skip work. Listens to good music, rides a motorcycle and insults people. Dubious morals. Sounds like someone I'd date. (via amazon.com)
