I'd picked up "The Last of the Nuba", a heavy volume of Leni Riefenstahl's photographs Nubian, Dinka, Shilluk, and Masai while in art school. Each image was so beautiful, powerful, and overwhelming that I could only study one image during each sitting. Before "The Last of the Nuba" I found it impossible to find any books which presented photographs of African customs, environment, and adornment which such grace, detail, and respect. Glad to see Leni Riefenstahl's Africa photographs published by Taschen
