I have to say that AMEX marketed the hell out of me to get this card and I didn't really see the value since I don't really travel all that much. Finally, while on a call with a CS rep at AMEX I asked what the value was for me. Basically, you get an exclusive support phone number where the reps are even better than the Gold Card reps in terms of service. I made the switch (mainly to get to the Centurion card, apparently it's a requirement to have the platinum card first) and have been very happy with the new service and I'm not positive but I swear my rewards points shopping interface has changed to a new (better) format. Also, the 20k of free points was a nice perk too! Definitely recommend this card.

As one of the many things to take with you while being out in Las Vegas, a credit card tops the list second only to your I.D.

Drinks will run between $8 and $14 a piece (shots and beers on the low end, mixed drinks on the high end), and bottle service averages $500 a bottle when it's all said and done (with tax and appropriate tips).
