An awesome collection of music... even if you don't like jazz I'll bet you can't help but like and respect the magic that's goin' on here. I've been listening to it for at least 15 years without getting tired of it. Truly a classic.

50 years after its release, "Kind of Blue" is the best-selling classic jazz album of all time. This is the one jazz record owned by people who don't listen to jazz.

The band itself is extraordinary, listing John Coltrane and Julian "Cannonball" Adderley on saxophones, Bill Evans (or, on "Freddie Freeloader," Wynton Kelly) on piano, and the crack rhythm unit of Paul Chambers on bass and Jimmy Cobb on drums.

Miles Davis pushed his amazing side musicians outside of their comfort zones in a direct and economical way to guide them into doing what they did best. (via amazon.com)
