The transparent reservoir lets you gauge how much water your plant is soaking up. The plant will gather water as it needs it so that you only have to water them one a week or even less. (via Eva Solo)

The purpose of good design is to make products that are functional and good to look at. Great design helps even the most helpless achieve otherwise tasks. Now there's hope even for for those who cant seem to keep plastic plants alive.

The Eva Solo Flowerpot consists of two stacking parts. The top is a rather usual flower pot while the one below is filled with water. A nylon wick draws water up (yes, magic) and helps keep the plant watered. Once the glass is running low on water, you know to fill it up with some more. Its that simple.

All four colors (chalk white, dark grey, ice blue and khaki) are available in two sizes.

Eva Solo products manage to strike the finest balance between awesome design and the most practical of function. This Flowerpot is no exception. A beauty to gaze upon, the mechanism is simplicity itself. An ordinary flower pot with soil at the top, and water with a wick for moisture transport below. Simple, beautiful, easy.

Great example of 'forms meets function'. I rarely kill my houseplants, but in the times that I have, it's been due to over or under-watering, either from me being away from the house or a little *too* loving to my plants. This is a great solution for people who love to have plants around the house but might not have a whole lot of time (or maybe the presence of mind) to care for them.

Modern and innovative--it was made for me. I can think of just a few drawbacks: like having a warm-colored kitchen. But gorgeous, beyond any doubt. Ooh, and that surface would be perfect for stickers, if you're a more creative sort. (via loft3)
