I have carried around a small Swiss Army knife for years and have always found it useful. It was often underpowered for common tasks though (like cutting through the hard clear plastic that every product seems to come in nowadays). This knife is small and the scissors are powerful. They cut through fingernails and that evil plastic with equal ease.

The fact that it includes a bottle opener for opening the celebratory beer after your struggle to get the product out of the packaging is just a bonus. (via Eric Hammond)

Fits in your pocket as easily as the Leatherman Micra but most of the tools are accessible on the sides without unfolding the whole thing. Plus it comes in different colors.

Look at the model when buying as the S4 has scissor and the P4 has pliers.

Keychain size keeps tools on hand at all times. Friends and co-workers are stunned when I whip out this baby to snip loose threads or trim paper in a pinch—in the middle of Manhattan! This multi-tool has also helped me chop veggies for dinner and cut twine in the wilderness. Another perk is the option of three different colors! Leatherman offers a 25-year limited warranty on all of their tools and their customer service is excellent.
