This is the perfect thermometer for candy-making. It is durable and accurate, and very user friendly. The flat design of this thermometer is what makes it the ideal thermometer for making toffee and other candies. You can lay the thermometer against the edge of your pot, while the bottom of the thermometer can rest squarely in the middle of the pan- a necessity for candy making. Other thermometers clip solely to the edge of the pan, and by the time the edge is up to temperature, you've burnt the candy in the center of the pot. I can't recommend this thermometer enough.

I will certainly give this thermometer a try. I have been trying to make pralines, fudge and divinity for a while now and I can never get the temperature right.

This looks like something I could use expecially with the holidays just around the corner. (via mrswaz)
