While I sorta wish this magazine was only about wine decanters (because that would be ridiculously niche-oriented) it's actually a pretty cool alternative to some of the more traditional wine mags. Which makes it a good gift subscription for the wine lover in your life who probably already has a dog-eared stack of back issues of Wine Spectator.

This gives me a European perspective on what is going on in wine. It's good to read reviews, but don't be afraid to experiment with wine and food. Although the red wine with red meat and white wine with white meat and fish is a good rule of thumb, try a light red wine with duck or chicken and a sweet white wine with meat.
