Baz Luhrmann has created a truly 'spectacular spectacular' film, with top-notch performances from each cast member. The soundtrack is great... especially 'Lady Marmalade' and the song by 'Valeria'... and Beck's cover of 'Diamond Dogs' is as interesting and funky as anything he's done in the past. McGregor and Kidman are fantastic... 'Elephant Love Medely' captures the spirit of the whole film, mixing love with comedy and contemporary with classic. A must see! (via Rose Poirier)

this is one of my *favorite* movies of ALL time! nicole kidman, ewan mcgregor and john leguizamo bring this movie to life with their singing and acting. from experience, i find that you either LOVE this movie or hate it. my boyfriend can't understand why they are singing contemporary songs but i thought it was such a creative and bold move on baz lurham (director) to do his take on the modern songs. i think he is an absolute genius and i love every movie he has ever done!
