Mammut is an excellent Swiss brand that manufactures extremely well made ski pants, gloves, hats, fleece tops, etc. Their USA distribution is limited; hop over to Europe and see if you can pick something up.
I've personally used their ski pants and found them extremely well suited to the task. Mine are for warmer skiing weather, so it's a lightweight shell with plenty of discreetly placed pockets. There are even meshed side vents to let air in if you feel a little too warm.
An excellent brand for ski apparel. And I just love saying the name :D
