i'm a football dork, which sounds like an oxymoron until you realize that the reason i don't actually PLAY football is that i am too slow/fat/weak/etc.
anyway, this is a book for football dorks by football dorks with actual statistical analysis of players and teams (they also use several stats not commonly reported, including some calculations they made up), not the "you gotta win the battle upfront" crap. that said, there's legitimate humor in the book, too--it's a dry, sort of aloof humor that's a nice change of pace from the standard ex-jock-overlaughing-for-tv bit.
