What a clever little tool! So very small too, so it won't take up much space in your kitchen.

Don't even fight it. You know your the one that tries so hard and repeatedly fails epicly when trying to slice an apple. You end up witha lopsided half wasted apple that you don't even want anymore because slicing it was such a hassle. Well worry no more. Some genuis finally put their foot down and said im gonna do something about this. THANK YOU RANDOM GENUIS!! NO MORE LOPSIDED, CHOPPY LOOKING APPLES. HELLO SNACK TIME!

The cool new Giro Apple Slicer ($36) literally puts a whole new spin on coring and slicing an apple. The sleek stainless steel blade quickly twists down through the apple and around the core in one smooth fluid motion, leaving a fun spiral shape.
It's a great tool for making unique apple snacks or garnishes and can even be used as a cover for half-finished apples to keep them from oxidizing. I wonder if it can be used for spiralling potatoes too? (via Michael Kiely)

I'm having a difficult time picturing what this actually does to an apple. But whatever it does, it looks good doing it. Plus, it helpd preserve the apple.
