Intricately detailed and flawless in the craftsmanship. One Lion is the Male and one is the Female Standing Guard at the entrance of your home or business. The photos cannot show the awesome beauty of these two pieces. Temple Lion statues appeared in China with the advent of Buddhism. They represent defense and protection and are often seen guarding entrances and gateways to buildings. The Lion is the symbol of strength, courage and character. When a Temple Lion is seen with a ball, it signifies the moon pearl which represents blessings and protection against evil, and the ball also symbolizes the sun, which is Yang. These are the same thing with two different names.
