my last digital carryalong met with an unfortunate demise and i was gifted with this great little point and shoot.
thing is: i am so in love with this little canon!
the sd 990is has a lot of versatility and control for the artyart as well as some superhandy automatic settings to capture all those moments... the waterproof case is another interesting little twist, allowing for some amazing underwater shots when it might not have even crossed your mind to take underwater shots before.

Wonderful curves and weight make this easy to hold in one hand. Takes great photos, especially macro, but the real stunner is the video. Takes native Quicktime (.mov) videos that are a snap to upload to sites like Google video. The quality is astonishing, especially in ambient light inside homes, shops, etc. Not as good in low light, but neither is my $1000 camcorder. (via Canon eStore)
