Epoisses de Bourgogne by Di Bruno Bros.
i have no idea who these di bruno bros are, but i know epoisses. it is a fabulous, stinky, potentially runny, washed rind cheese from burgundy. on a recent trip to burgundy, i drove out of my way to the town of epoisses where i had an espresso at a bar, and then went to berthault's store in town to procure cheese from the source... absolutely wonderful. considered the king of burgundian cheeses...
Epoisses really reek and frankly look nasty. But, if you like your cheese plus forte, then you must try an Epoisse. Runny, messy, indulgent, and exotic. The best/real Epoisses are only quasi-legal in the USA because they are raw and imported. Worth the risk of getting on Homeland Security Terrorist Cheese Watchlist to have some of these
