Devendra Banhart takes up a lot of my ipod/life and Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon put me in that position. This guy is like a breath of fresh air (not because his music was on Juno. maybe if I start a blog, it will revolve around my hate/problems with that movie. I digress...). Seahorse, my favorite song from this record is basically a perfect example of what Devendra's music has to offer the listener, a sort of multi-interpreted look back into the 60's and 70's, in the sense that he's suggesting a more simple way of being, while the almost impending doom of the climax of the song erupts into a sound that I haven't heard in a while. I've lost a lot of hope in the music being produced lately and though this came out about two years ago, it's restored a little of what I needed.
