I'm not quite ambitious enough to make Fried Chicken at home from scratch, so Thomas Keller's Kit to recreate the award-winning Fried Chicken he serves at his Napa restaurant Ad Hoc is probably going to do it. Ok, let's be real here, I'm not really ambitious enough to even use a kit either, but I'm sure I can find someone who can manage all the steps: brining, battering, and of course, frying. Keep in mind that you are going to need to prep your chicken the day before with the brine. With that said I could not believe the flavor of this fried chicken! It was juicy and absolutely delicious! The only issue I really had was that the coating got to be a bit lumpy and unuseable after awhile due to the buttermilk. Otherwise it coated plenty of chicken and was very crispy after frying. Even refrigerated overnight it was still crispy and the flavor was even better! My husband demands that I purchase this again...and I will.
