Before I moved to Montana I never worn denim. I was a khaki and cord wearing girl if I had to go casual. Then I moved here and realized that denim was the de facto standard for EVERYTHING. My alma mater's biggest fund raiser even combines black ties and blue jeans. Jeans and I have grown to if not like, at least tolerate each other. The darker they are the more I love them. These flares by Chip and Pepper are dark enough that I can pretend they are black pants and have a slight flare which at least attempts to balance my gigantor hips.
