My parents took me to see this when I was about 8 or 9 years old. Because nothing is more soothing to a little kid than a movie about being replaced pod people. But, I can't complain, I love this movie.

Why is my family acting so strangely? Why do they keep insisting that I go to sleep? What are those strange plants sprouting up all over the place? These are the important questions dealt with in this classic sc-fi thriller. This movie scared the hell out of me when I first saw it. There is a homeless man with a dog seen all through the movie. Here's the thing that got me... There's a certain banjo music played with they come on screen. They fall asleep in a an alley with one of those strange plants. The next time their theme music plays, out of the alley comes the dog with the old man's head instead of his own. Then the head slurps like a dog. That just about brought me out of my seat.
