If your school is cheap with transcripts or any of that, you know, CURRENT technology, you can always record class lectures yourself. I've found this Olympus model to do the job quite well.
It's easy to use, just hit record and go. The best part is that you simply detach the lower half and a USB stick is revealed - just plug it into your PC and get your recordings off. Super easy.
It technically can hold some music files to listen to as well, but I wouldn't recommend it for that. Otherwise, great voice recorder.

This recorder works as directed and can be connected directly to your computer. Recordings are clear and overall this device is simple to use.
