I love this book because it took me on a romantic romp through France, a quick trip to New York, and an exciting journey to the world of Paris Couture, the city of lights and the environs of Paris.

This is an incredibly well-written novel - an addictive pleasure to read. It tells the story of a humble, provincial French dressmaker, Claude Raynaud, who falls madly in love with a client - Valentine de Verlay - a beautiful Parisienne society woman, for whom he is creating a wedding dress. All the love and passion put into the making of this exquisite wedding gown brings Claude closer to Valentine.
