Each slab is about 4" tall and 14.5" x 15.5" in diameter with beautiful rustic knots and checks in the wood. The weight is approximately 10 pounds. Each slab is cut from Black Walnut which is a dense hard wood that will last use after use. The slabs are very round. Perfect for weddings, parties, and general uses. Get creative and add character to your decor! Each stand is sanded and sealed with a clear wax finish to preserve and protect it. Each tree slice is unique and will differ naturally from the one shown in color and shape. The darling edible sugar fall leaves are from Andie’s Specialty Sweets, right here on Etsy! Beautiful, rich tones of amber, burnt umber, gold, peridot green (with hints of eggplant and wine reds) guild these hand-crafted leaves. Besides their impressive presence they have a delicate chocolaty taste (and are not overly sweet). When choosing a cake stand it is important to choose a wood that holds its bark well. I try to stay away from the cheaper woods that drop the bark easily and search for local hardwoods like Black Walnut and Siberian Elm. I choose woods with beautiful bark that is hearty and full of character. I reinforce the bark using a variety of methods to ensure it will last for the long haul.
