These are probably some of the most attractive biodegradable disposables (made from sugarcane). They are unbleached and FDA-approved food-safe. Safe for microwave and freezer, are oil-resistant and good for hot or cold foods.

They can be composted, torn up in pieces and added to your garden to compost, or cleaned (with no oil residue) and recycled with paper.
Also available on Amazon.

"StalkMarket products are made from Bagasse, the natural cellouse fibers that remain after sugarcane has been processed to remove all the liquid "juice" from the sugarcane stalk. Natural fibers such as these will biodegrade in the presence of heat, moisture, oxygen and microorganisms that feed on the fibers as part of their normal diets." (via Treehugger)

good bye styrofoam! there's no reason to feel guilty anymore when you don't want to use dishes, now even a relaxed meal in front of the tv can be completely biodegradable. perfect for all parties, college students, and everyone, really. with this type of purchase we encourage higher production of such items, and hopefully eventually eradicate paper and plastic disposable plates and utensils.

No more plastic cups, utensils, or paper plates for you. This recyclable, compostable, and/or biodegradable dinnerware is made from sugar cane fiber, which is a byproduct of the sugar refining process. There is an unlimited supply of this stuff, and it's usually burned to be disposed of so turning it into dinnerware is a much better option. And, they're "they're microwavable, freezer safe, oil resistant, and capable of handling hot or cold foods and beverages." They're super sturdy, strong, and can be 100% recycled to make paper.

Make sure to set up recycle bins at your camp. One each for glass, aluminum, paper, and plastic. When you leave Burningman, there are recycling companies that take your sorted recyclables off of your hands. (If they're not sorted, they go in the trash, so be sure to sort!) Then, use these plates and dinnerware, rinse as well as u can, and place in the paper recycle bin. Voila!
