If you can't visit the Meatpacking District in Manhattan then go see the website. I visited in February this year and it is the most amazing mix of shops the meatpackers still work out of there making it so unique.

If you visit New York City, be sure to visit the meatpacking District. And while there, be sure to eat at Old Homestead steak house (and yes I will say better than Peter Luger, yell at me all you want) and also try out Markt a Belgium restaurant diagonally across the street. If you love tomato soup, then you'll Markt's. Never in my existence have I tasted such delicious soup. The other great thing about the Meatpacking District is the bars and lounges are off the hook and everyone in the area is hot!
