When you're out on the town, you're going to need some backup juice for your phone, PDA, MP3 player, whatever. The Soili Solar powered charger will hold 8-10 hours of solar juice, to power your stuff. Of course, if you live in Seattle, you can still store energy from the wall.

8-10 hours of direct sun (or plug it in for 2-4 hours if you need to) will give this unit enough power to charge your ipod, cell phones, pda's, digital camera. A good eco-friendly solution or just a good back-up for when you need the extra juice. $70

A portable solar-powered charger that collects the energy of the sun and transfers it to my many hand-held devices, this slick little object of beauty appeals to my inner hippie, my inner James Bond, AND my inner MoMA curator. And yes, for the record, that’s the only time those three have agreed on anything.

A portable power source for all your portable handheld devices, including game players, digital cameras, iPods, PDAs and more • Renewable solar charger draws energy from the sunlight and stores it in an internal battery • Plug into the sun while traveling abroad (no more outlet problems), camping, at the dorm and more • Sun’s rays hit solar cells then attach cable, push a button and get instant energy • Fits neatly in a pocket, purse or backpack

We all love our gadgets, but hate the fact that they run low on battery power in too short a time; worse still, they tend to run out of power at a time & place where a power outlet isn't handy. Enter the Solio, a device not much bigger than an MP3 player that puts out enough power to recharge most cell phones and portable media devices in a few hours of sunlight.

"Solio™, the Universal "Hybrid" Charger is powerful enough to charge all of your handheld electronic products at home or on the move, anywhere under the sun. Solio is a Hybrid because it can accept power from either the wall socket or Sun storing this energy within Solio's internal rechargeable battery. Solio then uses this energy to power your gadgets at the same rate as if they were plugged into the wall. Solio will also hold its charge for up to a year. "

It's really economical, stylish and it works. There have been so many times where I've been driving in my car or riding my bike and my cell phone or ipod battery died, and this little guy would've been a lifesaver.

I am def bringing a Solio w/me on my next extended adventure so I can have my ipod anywhere in the world and not worry about power outlets

This is a great way to responsibly do your part and go green. Simply spread out the fanned solar panels and the device will capture solar energy that can be used to power a multitude of handheld devices. Comes in a handful of colors.

You're so green... you recycle your cans, bottles and cut through all the plastic circles so fish don't get caught. But you don't have this solar charger for your iPod.. so when you go running into the woods communing with nature you can recharge your Enya mix... unless there's a rainstorm.. then you're pretty much screwed either way.

This little guy is going to be a lucky someone's lifesaver. It's a portable solar powered charger that can charge any number of electronic gadgets from cell phones to portable game systems to iPods. It holds power via the sun or electricity (an option for night time) for up to a year as well. Not a bad energy-free (if you don't charge it via the wall) gadget to have on hand and it won't take up much extra space.

I saw this in a convenience store and really wanted to get it. My well-meaning friend deterred me from buying things "I don't need" impulsively. In my book, if you can never forget something and really wish you had, even months later, then by all means get it!

When I first saw this I wasn't in a position to spend frivolously but then I saw that it was on the list of one of my credit card rewards lists, so I got it. I tend to forget to charge my cell phone until we've just gone beyond the moment when there'd be time to do so. With this baby charged up (when I do think of it) I can just take it, the phone and the cord and charge on the way...

This is going straight onto my wish list... a bit on the pricey side but who ever said saving a planet comes cheap anyway? Based on all the positive recommends here this looks like a no-brainer. I've been thinking about a solar charger for awhile now but didn't have a clue as to what was a good one.... guess I do now! Just double-check to make sure there's a tip for your brand of phone... looks like my LG will work.
