I went to the Grand Canyon for a spring break adventure. I came back with a severely sprained ankle that still hurts to this day but also got my favorite necklace in the world. It is truly a remarkable place. I suggest an easy hike into the canyon (not the challenging one I took that left me pretty much scared for life). And don't pull a Thelma and Louise (or any of the people in this book) and take a flying leap over the cliff.
