This is my favorite fountain pen. I like a special pen. It need to be special/expensive enough to make you take care not to lose it, to make you take care of it, but not so special that you'd be devestated when you finally do misplace or break it.

I recommend the fine point.

A true favourite among Waterman fans. The Expert is quite a masculine pen with its bold, rounded cigar shape. The Expert is brass based to give it a decent weight and excellent balance for easy writing.
The Expert comes in some great colours and lacquer finishes
and is available as a fountain pen, rollerball, ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil. The Expert fountain pen has a really nice, smooth writing steel nib and you can easily get a convertor if you dont want to use cartridges. (via Waterman Expert Fountain Pen)

I got into fountain pens as a kid. My grandmother used them. I would even make her ink using my chemistry set. As a young adult I was given a Waterman Expert after testing out several other pens at a local store. I found that the control of the flow of ink was superior. This is important to me, as I write very carefully and precisely. The weight of the pen was perfect. Not too lightweight, not too heavy. Perfection. (via pensandgifts.net)
