Except for a few metal tables, each piece of furniture in interior designer Mariette Himes Gomez’s Private Label Collection is made to order and can be completely customized. Gomez, who has been practicing design since the mid 1970s, began creating furniture in 1992. The Private Label Collection now comprises about 50 pieces--tables, chairs and upholstered furniture marked by classic, clean lines and a simple elegance. (In 2002, Gomez introduced a second line of furniture, the Mariette Himes Gomez Collection, manufactured by the Hickory Chair Company, which offers limited customization.)
