I think Ratatat writes music for wandering NYC. You wonder why everybody has their white earbuds stuck in their ears at all times? These guys are at least partially to blame.

Good mix of electronic sounds, artfully manipulated guitar, and subtle hooky bass lines. Probably not quite as good as the earlier Ratatat, but still keeping up the tradition with slicker production values and more variety in the noise.

Here's how I feel about Ratatat: meh. But imagine a very positive "meh." I used to be a die-hard Ratatat fan, that is, until I saw their sad excuse for a concert back home. The guys were so wasted they couldn't even remember their own songs. Good thing they don't have to sing.
But that being said, when you're in the mood for some very, very catchy guitar/synthesizer music, Ratatat is a very good choice. Just please, don't listen to live versions of anything.
