The band was formed by singer songwriter Nick Barclay, Kev Willison and Paul Bowman, joined by Kevin Powell on Bass and Nathan Ariss on Keyboards, and more recently featuring on guitar Ronnie Douglas. Jane Smith's sound is described as mature, thoughtful, inspiring, the songs of Nick Barclay and Kev Willison are performed by a stunning group of musicians who are bringing the Jane Smith sound alive. Nick is the driving force behind Jane Smith, a lyricist and songwriter whose music carries unashamedly positive influences with a unique voice that people have compared in quality to some of the great singers Steve Marriot, Paul Carrack , but as he says himself the voice and the songs making the connection with the audience is all that matters. Previously Nick was involved in dance music production but found that he missed the real songs and inspiration that comes with playing on the stage with fellow musicians.
