The latest installment of the industry standard for design. I pretty much would not be able to do even half the work I do without this software.

If you have any intention of getting into design, or doing photo retouching, then this is the software for you.

You can always try out the free month trial, and check out the user forums to get the most out of this. (without the price tag) (via Adobe)

I love Photoshop... it's so easy to use (once you get the hang of it) and works brilliantly. Unfortunately it isn't quite affordable.

I don't use all the bits of this, but the ones I do use are essential. Photoshop is by far the best photo/graphic design app on the market today. I literally couldn't have done my job for the last 10 years without this software. In Design has everything you could possibly think of to create everything from tri-folds to complete books. It lets you create foot notes, end notes, chapter notes, glossaries, appendices, Tables of Contents and indices. You can set up repeating functions, special forms of word wrap and so much more. Unlike most software packages, this Suite of programs really earns it's keep. (via revolutionarygirl)
