Quality analysis of world politics and economies. Objective, frank, well-researched and often insightful. Plus - its covers are often a witty commentary in itself.

A very well-written weekly publication aimed at informed, educated readers, The Economics examines domestic and international news, finance, business, current affairs, science, technology and to a lesser extent, the arts. Prepare to be enlightened.

If you want to appear smarter than you really are, walk around with this.
OK, really, it's not so much a hard read (though you might need a dictionary sometimes - they ARE British after all) so much as it's a lengthy one. You'll get a full overview of newsworthy events around the world, as well as some interesting articles that you won't find elsewhere. There is a nice Science and Tech section reporting the latest finds, and an Arts and Book Review section (a bit smaller and more conservative though). And, yes, economic indicators and data are published in the back.
It's a really smart publication in terms of what you can learn from it. Don't expect to finish it in a day (well, maybe if you're stuck in an airport...). Buy a copy at a news-stand and see if you like it. If you're an intellectual or curious type, chances are you will. Know someone who might like it? Buy them a gift subscription - it's much, much cheaper, and you might get a free T-shirt. Though you probably shouldn't wear that in public.
51 Issues a year (once every week, except at the end of the year).
