The lightest weight foundation that actually works...from a drugstore, and also has enough shades for every woman out there. (via InStyle Magazine)

A smooth liquid makeup that's a match for pricier foundations I've tried. Comes in a variety of shades for women of all complexions. The success of the foundation has led to complementary blush, concealer, and compact powder shades.

Why? Because you're worth it. (via drugstore.com)

When it comes to cosmetics I always go with high-end brands -- always. I usually plunk down somewhere close to $40 on foundation and another $40 on powder because I like to go with the "best". However as part of my New Year's resolution (I haven't gave up on it yet) to be wiser with my money I am trying a drugstore brand foundation.

I had heard good things about L'Oreal's True Match foundation from both magazines and from actual people (gasp) so I decided to pick up a bottle.

The claim:

LOreal True Match Super-Blendable Makeup precisely matches your skins texture and tone for a smooth natural finish:

* Formulated with Opti-Blend Complex to control coverage and fine-tune it
* Micro-fine optical pearls blur imperfections
* Packed with vitamins B and E glycerin to nourish skin
* Ultra-pure formula contains no oils, fragrance, or pore-clogging fillers

The reality:

The reality is that finding my actual "true" color was a bit challenging. I tested bottle after bottle on my wrist until a Target employee barked at me and I just picked up W-4 and ran to the checkout. I think I could have gone with a W-5 because the shade seemed a tinge light.

Now that I have used the foundation twice I realized I was just putting it on too thick. A little goes a long way with this bottle of foundation. The coverage is great and texture doesn't look all cakey like most drugstore foundations. For about $8 I say, why not ... a New Year a new foundation.
