Here's a nice take on the time out spot. A small kid-sized rug, helpfully labelled (though I don't think it will take long for your little one to realize what this rug is for.) It's more easily toted to a caregiver's house than a time out seat, keeping punishments consistent no matter where the naughtiness happens.
