Le Labo - The Olfactionary

My mum used to have an aging set of glass vials in a leather case that I was obsessed with as a little girl. Each vial had at one time carried a single fragrance and the cork stoppers still held the scent as if it still was soaked in it. La Labo seems to have read my memories!
La Labo has a store front in New York and I'll bet nothing beats actually visiting and smelling for yourself, but they cleverly have put together the idea of the store in The Olfactory. It's a set of the "40 fundamental natural essences" used to create perfumes. It's chemistry made fun!
"Forty 2.5 ml bottles containing natural essences suspended in an alcohol-based solution, representing the principal scents you find in perfumes. The box also includes a pack of olfactory keys or “blotters“ for sampling the scent of these essences."
With this you can learn about all the different layers that go into creating a perfume, use a scent individually or come your own unique, personalized blend. Or keep it tucked in your dresser drawer for a little girl to find! (via coutorture.com)
