I'm not sure why this is called Retexturing Gel, but I get the Brilliant part - I would have called it Smoothing Gel or Calming Gel or something. It does both of those things and has that wonderful Aveda smell. You only need a little and you can blow dry or let your hair air dry - it comes out looking smooth and shiny either way. My hair is WAY CURLY. But if I put this in my bangs in the morning before I blow dry them, they will stay straight all day. After a lifetime of searching for a product that would do this without making my hair greasy while also smelling great, that's quite the testimonial.
