In Japan, the bartenders make these perfectly round ice balls with just a block of ice and an ice pick. They make them to fit your glass perfectly, so that when you order your drink "on the rocks" the ice will melt more slowly, not watering down the expensive whiskey you just ordered. I have one in my freezer and have to say that it is equally effectively for my soda on a warm summer day.
