For so long I have searched for the motivation to meditate... and along comes Catching the Big Fish. Thank you, Mr. Lynch, for proving that we are all inextricably connected as spiders in a web... and carrying along the message of inner enlightenment. If you only get one... I'd recommend the audiobook. I love David Lynch's voice. "COOP, YOU REMIND ME TODAY OF A SMALL, MEXICAN CHIWOWWOW!" Bliss.
Knowing that David is a big meditator I expected to encounter chapters lecturing about meditation. What I found instead were true pearls of wisdom that speak right to the heart of anyone who strives to keep their creative streak strong. He doesn't preach, he doesn't say what is right or wrong, he just speaks what's worked for him. It's an easy read that's fun and insightful. I walked away with several actionable items that have already influenced by creative process. A must own. Just make sure and put your name in the book because friends will want to borrow it and you may never see it again.
This is a crazy awesome audio book...it's like David is reading/speaking to you! In one passage of the book, Lynch says that Van Gogh "would have been even more prolific and even greater if he wasn't so restricted by the things tormenting him. I don't think it was pain that made him so great--I think his painting brought him whatever happiness he had."
this is really neat. great read for david lynch fans
