Capital Ties, a New York based neckwear design and manufacturing company, announced today that it has launched a nationwide initiative called Tie One On For Recycling and is trying to recruit 1,000 “green-minded” consumers to buy and wear its exclusive Recycling-themed necktie on Earth Day (April 22, 2008). The Recycling necktie design is subtle – in fact, most clothing store owners shown the design remarked that it looked like a typical foulard – and is being produced in both red and green ground colors. Typical of other products from Capital Ties, the Recycling-themed necktie is made from imported silk twill fabric and hand sewn in the USA with a double wool and cotton lining from Italy. Finished ties are expected in late February and will be shipped to those who pledge to purchase at least one by then at the wholesale price of $25.00 (retail price is $65.00). Capital Ties has stated that it will not profit from this initiative. Interested parties may obtain a Pledge Form and an image of the Recycling tie by contacting customerservice@capitalties.com.

First of all, this looks like a great looking tie. Once I discovered the purpose behind it, I have raised both hands. I've pledged to buy and wear it on Earth Day (the green color, of course) and I trust a lot of other gentlemen who care about a sustainable planet will too! Bravo to the designer.

Great idea. I work around people who claim they are "green," but this will make an important statement on its own.

On behalf of my husband, I pledged to buy this tie. I just received it and it is truly awesome. My husband plans to wear it proudly at the Go Green Expo in New York City next month.
