i'm a hardcore last.fm addict. it is to music what thisnext is to clothes & design. personalized recommendations, "tag" bands & songs, streaming music, free downloads... can't beat that! i'm warning you though: you'd better have several hours free the first time you go there... you'll be sucked in!

Last.fm is a free streaming-audio music site. It will build a custom station that matches your musical taste, based on what you listen to, and play things you will probably like. It also finds a community of other users who have similar musical tastes to yours. It takes it a while to do this, so you have to be patient and listen to quite a few songs before it really works. I have found that now it consistently plays music that I have never heard before, but that I really like, and I have discovered new artists this way.

I love Last.fm. A great social music site. Makes recommendations of things you would like and you can find other users with the same taste as you. Where else am I going to find Backyard Babies and Wildheart fans, but here! Woo Hoo!

I just started using last.fm last week, and I really like it. It gives you charts, recommendations and the website pairs you up with people who have similar taste in music. You get to see what your friends are listening to, and post in your own journal.
